NYGBA Poultry Show
May 28, 2011
The NYGBA had their first poultry show on May 28, 2011. The NYGBA added a new theme to the standard poultry show. Judging was divided into two seperate rounds. The first round was judged by R.C. Baker from Conesus, NY. This round was judged by class and standards as set forth in the UGBA Show Standards.
The second round of judging was judged by Joe Lewis from Daleville, AL. This round was for males only and was classed strictly by weight, with birds being randomly drawn and compared to the other bird in a single elimination process. Conditioning and those attributes indicating athleticism served as the criteria for this round. Birds were weighed in and put into 5 weight classes. Slips were drawn for 2 birds and those birds judged by conditioning. The birds advanced in a single elimination format until a single winner was determined in each weight class. The winner of each weight class received a trophy and prize money. The prize money was determined by the number of entries in each class and payback was based on $15 per bird. The more birds entered in a class the higher the payback for that weight class.
Below are some random shots taken at the show with more of the winners to be added.
